The Inland Pacific Ballet Academy’s production of “Seussical Jr.”, with a cast of young people ages 6-18, opens at 7 p.m. Friday, October 29 at the Inland Pacific Ballet Academy Studio Theater 7, 9061 Central Ave., Montclair.
Performances continue at 7 p.m. on October 30 and November 4 and 6, and at 2 p.m. on October 31 and November 7. Performances are also available for live streaming.
The show features Dr. Seuss’ favorite characters in a story set in Nool’s Jungle and the McGurkus Circus as The Cat in the Hat tells the tale of Horton the elephant, who discovers a speck of dust containing tiny people called the Whos. Horton must protect the Whos from a world of naysayers and dangers, and he must guard an egg entrusted to him by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird.
The young cast come from Azusa, Banning, Chino, Chino Hills, Claremont, Corona, Eastvale, Fontana, La Puente, La Verne, Montclair, Ontario, Pomona, Rancho Cucamonga, San Bernardino and Upland.
Tickets for in-person performances are $25 for adults and $15 for children 12 and under. Seating is limited and socially distanced. Attendees are asked to arrive early to complete a health screening questionnaire, and masks are required.
Children are encouraged to come dressed up to in-person performances from October 29-31 and are invited to participate in a free studio trick-or-treating with the actors after those performances.
